Although the library now has e-mail capability, it still does not have a connection to the Internet. Latvia joined the AGRIS/CARIS system. There is a lack of qualified librarians, and the generally depressed economic situation means resources are not available for the development of the Latvian Agricultural sector. Networking of Latvian agricultural libraries is planned, however. |
