AgroWeb Slovak Republic, a part of the AgroWeb Central and Eastern Europe Network is created in aim to collect and provide information on agricultural institutions and other important agriculture related subjects to help users to find information and contacts in Central and Eastern European countries and former USSR.

- June 30, 2008, Nitra, Slovakia: Ministry of Agriculture of the Slovak Republic, in the wording of the document MP SR no. 2483/2008-250, and with effect from 30th June 2008, abolishes the independent legal entity of the state subsidiary organizations Institute of Scientific and Technical Information for Agriculture (ISTIA) and Agroinštitút Nitra. Effective from 1st July 2008, Ministry of Agriculture of the Slovak Republic, in the wording of the document MP SR no. 2483/2008-250, establishes the organization Agroinštitút Nitra, state enterprise, with the status of a legal successor of the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information for Agriculture and Agroinštitút, Nitra. We wish to inform you that Agroinštitút Nitra, state enterprise, will continue to be a part of the AgroWeb Network via the AgroWeb Slovak Republic portal
- June 5, 2008, Nitra, Slovakia: Institute of Scientific and Technical Information for Agriculture (UVTIP Nitra), AGRIS/CARIS Resource Centre in cooperation with Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia (FAO REU Budapest) have organised a training workshop for colleagues from the Central Scientific Agricultural Library in Moscow. The workshop was aimed on issues regarding the AGROVOC translation, maintenance of the AGRIS FAO database and AgroWeb network expanding. more
- March 10 - 16, 2008 - FAO POSTERS: Institute of Scientific and Technical Information for Agriculture in cooperation with Agroinstitute Nitra organise on the occasion of the 9th Week of Slovak Libraries an exhibition of posters produced by FAO.
