STRUCTURE OF SAAS
Organs of SAAS are:
- General Assembly of Members
- The Board of SAAS
- Departments of SAAS
- Commissions of the Board of SAAS.
General Assembly of SAAS Members (GA)
The highest organ of the Slovak Academy of Agricultural Sciences
is the General Assembly of SAAS members.
To its sphere of action belong mainly:
- elect and remove the Board of SAAS, its chairman and deputy
- chairman
- deliberations about serious scientific, professional and other
important problems in the sphere of agriculture and take up attitudes
towards them
- elect members and make decision on deprivation of the membership
in SAAS
- make decisions on essential questions of organization and activities
of SAAS
- approve and change the organizational regulations of SAAS.
The Board of SAAS
The Board of SAAS fulfils the tasks of SAAS in the period between
the sessions of General Assembly. The board is created by the chairman,
deputy - chairman, scientific secretary and members of the Board.
The SAAS chairman is confirmed by the minister of agriculture SR.
The SAAS chairman is member of the board of the ministry by virtue
of his function. The term of office of the Board members and chairmen
of departments last three years and can be prolonged by one more
term at the most in the same function.

Scientific organs of SAAS
The scientific and professional activity of SAAS is performed
by its scientific organs - departments, appointed according to fields
of science as a rule, commissions and working teams created for
special activity and tasks.
The departments are approved by the General Assembly of SAAS members,
the chairman of department is elected by members of the department
and he is appointed by the SAAS chairman.
SAAS Board creates the commissions and working groups of the Board
and their members are appointed by the SAAS chairman.
The departments can create sections. Members of sections including
the chairmen are appointed by the chairman of the department. SAAS
members and other scientific workers and specialists approved by
the given department constitute the departments and sections.
